Background
A mobile app that breaks down the barriers between surgeons and patients by allowing the surgeon to have full control over the operation recovery process.
SpineHealthie is an app that tracks patients' rehabilitation from spine surgery and helps them along their journey to recovery. The app allows the surgeon and patient to communicate effectively after the operation which aids the recovery process and allows for a more efficient, convenient and personalized rehabilitation program.
The Challenge
The main challenge for AppTailors was to deliver accessible and functional app with advanced survey features and monitoring for elderly people.
The main challenge when developing Spine Healthy was that the app needed to deliver a great user experience for all patients to give them a smooth recovery process and ensure they can navigate through the app easily. This was made more complicated by the need for unique features and functionalities like patient surveys within the app.
The SOLUTION
AppTailors overcame the challenges by developing an app with a simple and accessible interface whilst still providing plenty of unique features.
The app delivers a smooth user experience which means it can be easily navigated by every patient and also provides them everything they need for an effective recovery. We have designed a quick signup option with QR code to offer seamless user experience. Patients have access to simple and easy to navigate dashboard, where they can see their recovery progress and overdue, current and upcoming surveys. We have created secure solution which is HIPAA compliant to manage sensitive health data.
SURVEYS & MONITORING
Advanced survey and health monitoring features to improve healing process.
Patients are able to track their progress during recovery by filling in survey sets prepared by surgeons. Thanks to this surgeons can access the data they need to manage patient's recovery process in an efficient way. It gives possibility for two-way communication on an ongoing basis.
COLORS & TYPOGRAPHY
Simple, eye-pleasing colors with perfect contrast combined with highly readable font to reinforce accessibility.
Bearing in mind the age of our target group, we decided to use shades of black and green, which ensure great contrast, and which are also associated with medical topics.
APPLICATION
Spine Healthie application is available on Appstore and Google Playstore. To secure smooth development process and accessibility on both platforms we used Flutter technology.
Besides the mobile app, we have recently developed a web application allowing surgeons to use dashboards on desktop. It was possible to make in just few days thanks to the usage of Flutter.
Mobile screens
We had to ensure incredibly simple user flow, that's why we have only prepared less than 20 mobile screens. With just this little amount we were able to secure all main features and clear user flow. We value quality over quantity.
The main challenge during this project was to design an interface as simple and accessible as possible, while still providing specific functionalities. Since the typical user of this application is not yet fully recovered from surgery, he or she should be able to take actions in the smoothest and easiest way possible. Therefore a good management of the user experience was essential.
SpineHealthie is an app that tracks patients' recovery from spine surgery and helps them along their journey to recovery.
